A Hug from God
On that day when Jesus was born,
So lowly and gently in the manger,
As God said, “I am here with you.”
It was like a big hug from God.
On the days when Jesus did teach,
Wonderful comforting words of hope,
Earnestly saying, “I am your guide.”
It was like a big hug from God.
On that day when to Calvary he went,
Bearing my burden of sin and guilt,
Saying to God, “Father, forgive them.”
It was like a big hug from God.
On that day when from the tomb he rose,
Glorious and triumphant over death,
Saying to all, “I Am the Way and Life.”
It was like the biggest hug of them all.
